The Mormon YouTube Channel

I read my scriptures online nowadays. Its convenient for me since I spend a lot of time online anyway with work, and also, every resource you could ever need in your scripture study is right there at your fingertips. You got clickable footnotes, Ensign articles, even institute manuals. And lately, in addition to my study, I've been clicking on the Mormon Messages videos that they have on the YouTube Channels. Today was a message from Elder Oaks about Marriage and Divorce. I really enjoyed it, especially the testimony he gave about marriage at the very end. He testified of "the sweetness of family life that the family proclaimation describes as founded upon a husbnad and wife's solemn responsability to love and care for each other and for thier children." Now, maybe its been a while since I read the proclaimation, becuase at first, I expected him to say as founded upon love. But no, he said founded upon a responsibility to love. Thats an important difference.

Strange child.

A few nights ago, Lydia found some Shakespeare plays that I have. They're in separate books with mildly colorful pictures on the front, and Lydia decided they were hers. I was a bit flabbergasted when she handed me Troilus and Cressida and wanted me to read it to her for her nigh-night book. I started reading it, but she got mad that she couldn't see. I said, "Lydia, there's no pictures! See? its all just words. Its very boring for Lydia." She said "Okay" but when I tried to read a different book, she said, "No mommy, I want the boring book." So instead I found my copy of "Our Town" among all the shakesteare plays and started reading that instead. Two minutes later, she was fast asleep.
Well, I thought it was funny, and passed off the whole thing to her being sleepy. But last night she did it again. I read "Our Town" to her for like 10 minutes. Every few minutes I would ask if she wanted to switch to a different book and she would say no. Pretty soon, when I stopped asking, she just started telling me every few minutes, "Mommy, I don't want to read a different book." Well alrighty then. Strange child.
